Supporting your Child at Home

Our Homework Expectations
This section of our website aims to clarify our homework expectations and how you can support your child’s learning at home. Reading remains a priority and we expect every child to read at home at least 5 times a week. In addition to this, research evidence suggests that homework is more effective for younger students when homework builds confidence and fluency. This requires tasks to be tightly defined, well scaffolded and focused mainly on practising things students can already do. Therefore, our homework expectations will be to practice all important spelling and maths skills through the apps below.

Your child's Times Table Rockstars (TTRS) and Spelling Shed login can be found in the front of their reading record. We expect pupils in year one to year six to be using these apps for the practice activities set at least once a week but encourage access to these apps as often as possible. In addition to this, you can find additional activities below should you wish to use them.
