Radishes - June 2022
The children had a fantastic time designing packaging and picking our first batch of produce to sell at the village shop - radishes!
Platinum Jubilee - May 2022
The school celebrated Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee by doing Jubilee activities, decorating the school, making a Jubilee crown and having a picnic on the field.

Eurcharist Service - April 2022
Held at St Nun's Church, the service was officiated by Rev Paul Salaman. 
Visit from Cornish Caretakers - March 2022
We had a visit from the very funny Cornish Caretakers! They came into the classroom to teach us all about the history of communication (using a very competitive board game!) and then performed to the whole school in the hall. We laughed and learned a lot that day!
Red Nose Day - March 2022

Visit to Tate St Ives - March 2022
The school visited Tate St Ives and Barbara Hepworth's house. 

National Careers Week – March 2022
The school celebrated National Careers Week by looking at different jobs and thinking about what they might like to do when they are older. Pedrevan Class dressed up as their chosen career. Mr & Mrs Springle talked about being professional photographers & running their own business. Dr Jenkins talked about his career as a Doctor as well as other careers in medicine. Reverend Paul Salaman talked about his career journey through a variety of roles including living abroad in Africa.

Cornwall Christmas Box Appeal 2021
Thank you to everyone who donated a Christmas box or items for the boxes. We collected 23 Cornwall Christmas Boxes ready for delivery to families in Cornwall.
Children in Need 2021
This year, the children celebrated Children in Need by wearing something yellow and going on a sponsored ramble.
Remembrance Day 2021
The Year 6 children went to the Remembrance Service outside the Town Hall when they laid a wreath. During the week, poppies were sold.
Harvest 2021
This year the children took part in a Harvest Celebration filmed and shared with the parents via Dojo.
Guess the Weight of the Pumpkin
The PFA ran a 'Guess to Weight of the Pumpkin' competition before half term. Well Done to Sebastian who guess the correct weight of the pumpkin and won this together with a jar of sweets.
Black History Month 2021
During the month of October, we think about Black History. Check out some of the work we have done so far on prominent figures in history and anti racism.

World Encephalitis Day - 22nd February 2021
The school celebrated World Encephalitis Day by wearing red.

The children in school attended a zoom First Aid course in their classroom.
Cornwall Christmas Box Appeal 2020
This Christmas, the school supported the Cornwall Christmas Box Appeal. The school collected 49 boxes which were donated by families, staff and the wider community.

World Mental Health Day - Friday 9th October 2020
Thank you to everyone who supported our fundraising efforts for World Mental Health Day. We raised £300 which is amazing!
Sports Relief 2020
The school raised £43.00 for Sports Relief this year by selling Healthy Snacks at break time.

Book Fair - February 2020
We held a book fair in February and lots of families visited the fair and bought books to raise money for the school.
Children in Need 2019
 The school raised £171.00 for Children in Need this year, dressing up, holding a quiz and a Bake Sale.

Plastic Free Day - 8th May 2019
 To celebrate Sir David Attenborough's 93rd birthday, the school took part in a 'Plastic Free Day' where we avoided using single use plastics!

Sweet Sale - April 2019
 Connie & Kayna held a Sweet Sale after our Easter Eucharist Service in aid of Cancer Research and Young Carers. They raised £86 which will be shared between the charities and would like to thank everyone who supported them.
Cake Bake Sale - April 2019
 Evie & James held a Easter cake sale to raise money for the British Hen Welfare Trust on Tuesday last week.  Thank you to everyone who bought a cake, as the sale raised £45 for their charity. 
Egg Rolling - April 2019
During the morning, the children had a go at Egg Rolling in the Village Hall. This was run by the school PFA. 
Gardening - April 2019
 Tasmin from Perennial Harvest Gardening Club came to the school to help us prepare our entries for the Spring Flower Show at Royal Cornwall Show Ground on 5th & 6th April. The whole school spent the afternoon taking part in this.

 The school raised just over £152.00 for Children in Need this year, dressing up and holding a bake sale and bingo event.

 The school worked with Sarah Waller to produce a story through dance.
Pedrevan Class portrayed underwater creatures to set the scene. 
Lostledan Class channelled their inner Roman soldiers. 
Kwilkyn Class reenacted a story from Greek mythology. 
School Garden - May 2018
Children in Need 2017
 We had a great time for Children in Need this year and raised a lot of money for a fantastic cause! Pedrevan Class took part in a sponsored dance, Lostledan Class worked super hard in a sponsored circuits event and Kwilkyn put their fitness to the test with a sponsored non-stop run! In total, we raised £501.50! An incredible amount for a small school - you should be very proud!

 We are hugely thankful for our new Thrive Shed, which has been made possible by the PFA. Our break and lunch times have been so much calmer and we love chilling under the canopy with a story, using the chalk to doodle and writing on the chatter chalkboards!
